Shallot Export Quality From Thailand
Characteristics : Shallots are round or oval, with multiple levels of tunic and scales covering the bud. The vegetable is red or purple. The tunic is red or reddish purple. It has a pungent odor and spicy taste.
Health Benefit : It contains carbohydrates, fibers, protein, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, as well as vitamins B 1 and B 2, niacin, and vitamin C. The bud is composed of essential oils, including diallyl trisulfide (which is the same as that found in garlic) and contains flavonoid, glycoside, pectin and glucokinin.
